How Many Tours Should You Book
balance adventure with your R&R
The thing about visiting a vacation destination like Belize is that there’s so much to see and do – and so little time to fit it all in! With our beaches, jungles, cities and Mayan ruins, Belize has no shortage of things to do. You can bet that whatever interests you, there’s a tour for it!
But how do you strike the right balance between visiting those must-see attractions and actually relaxing? Here are our tips!
Spread out your tours
A completely scheduled vacation is the opposite of relaxing. It’s also the opposite of laid-back Belize living! Trust us when we say that you’ll find plenty to keep you occupied even if you’re just kicking around at home or on the beach. Spread out your tours so that you have some down-time between each one. After all, vacation is all about slowing things down!
Choose shorter tours
Belize tours range from just a couple of hours to jam-packed multi-day outings. If you’re worried about over-extending yourself, opt for a few shorter tours rather than committing to a longer one. This gives you more opportunity to go at your own pace and will give you more freedom to join in on other things that catch your eye along the way.
Mix up your tour types
So you’re an active type by nature, but your vacation doesn’t have to all be river tubing and Great Blue Hole diving. You can mix up some of the more high-impact tours with more relaxed outings like chocolate making, traditional cooking and exploring Mayan ruins. Try alternating active and cultural tours so that you have some recovery time before you need to get back into your snorkeling gear!
Split your tours
If you’re traveling with family or friends, you may find that you’re trying to accommodate people with a range of interests and abilities. Remember that you don’t always have to go everywhere together! You can send younger, more active types off zip lining or diving, and quieter types off on a cultural tour. Some of your travel group can always stay back at home, too.
Book last-minute
Not quite sure how much R&R you’ll need on your trip? Err on the side of caution. That way you won’t feel frazzled or have to worry about canceling a tour if you’re feeling tired. If you’ve had too much downtime and find yourself in need of something else to do, you can always book a last-minute tour through your accommodations provider – often we’ll know just the person to call!
Really, the answer to how many tours you should book is up to you. If you love a go-go-go vacation, then get booking! But if you’d rather relax and take things as they come, there are plenty of options to make sure you get to enjoy the chill getaway of your dreams.
