At Sirenian Bay Resort & Villas, we believe in creating a welcoming, friendly atmosphere for all guests. While we love animals, we’re are not a pet-friendly resort (BUT It’s not because we don’t want to be).

Sirenian Bay has one very special exception: the family dog, Brixton! He’s a lovable, well-trained Bernadoodle who has become a beloved friend to many of Sirenian Bay’s guests.

Meet Brixton: Everyone’s Friend

Brixton isn’t just any dog; he’s a part of the Sirenian Bay family. This super-friendly Bernadoodle is trained to socialize with guests but only at their discretion. If you’d like some furry companionship during your stay, Brixton is there to make your visit even more enjoyable. Rest assured, Brixton is never left alone and does not roam the property freely. He’s always under the watchful care of one of the resort’s handlers, ensuring that all interactions are comfortable and supervised.

Why We Don’t Allow Pets

While we understand the desire to bring your pets along on your vacation, Belize’s strict regulations between the United States and other countries make it very challenging. Although you can bring dogs into Belize, returning them to the U.S., even service dogs, is a complicated and often difficult process. This is one of the main reasons why we are unable to accommodate pets, including service animals, at any time.

When we talk about Service Animals, regulations around their allowance apply to the U.S. and a few other countries, but not to Belize, making it hard for travelers to navigate the process of bringing service animals back home.

The decision not to allow pets isn’t because we don’t appreciate the value and companionship they provide, as evidenced by Brixton’s presence on our property. It’s simply due to the logistical and regulatory challenges posed by international travel with pets.

Allergy Concerns

Brixton is not allowed in most of our accommodations (though he has stayed in one or two with his owners). Rest assured the rooms are thoroughly cleaned, but we cannot guarantee an allergen-free experience in these rooms. If you have concerns, please reach out before booking.

A Safe and Stress-Free Stay

The team at Sirenian Bay knows how important it is to feel comfortable and supported during your stay, and while they can’t accommodate personal pets, Brixton can provide some canine companionship if you’re missing your furry friends at home. He’s always there to offer a wagging tail and a warm greeting for those who would like to meet him.
